Statewide Support and Outreach for Nebraska’s Guardians and Conservators

The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) continues to provide outreach and support to guardians and conservators across the state, along with training for service providers. In April, Erin Wiesen, Education & Outreach Coordinator, traveled to McCook to give three training sessions on guardianship and conservatorship. Attendees included agency staff and board members of a developmental disability provider, family guardians, representative payees, and medical providers.

The OPG also continues to participate in nationally recognized events in the guardianship and conservatorship field. In May, Lisa Ludden, Associate Public Guardian, presented a case review during a virtual session of 'Guardianship Rounds' hosted by The Center for Guardianship Excellence. Ludden, a National Certified Guardian and Trustee of the Center for Guardianship Certification, presented a challenging case of a younger woman in a nursing facility with multiple health, social/family, financial, and legal challenges.
