Probation Launches New Engaged Field Visits Course Through New Probation Officer Training
Judicial Branch Education has recently introduced an innovative in-person course called Engaged Field Visits as an integral part of the New Probation Officer Training program. This innovative training aims to equip officers with the necessary skills to establish meaningful connections with individuals and their support networks while conducting field visits in various community settings, including homes, schools, workplaces, and other relevant locations.
Unlike conventional discussions that primarily focus on safety concerns during field visits, this new course, while still emphasizing officer safety, delves deeper into the potential for building relationships by engaging with probationers outside the confines of an office setting. The training offers valuable strategies to effectively engage individuals and their support systems during field visits, employing tools such as success plans. Additionally, it covers the integration of the Advanced Coaching for Excellence (AC4E) approach into field visits and emphasizes the significance of adaptability throughout the visitation process.
By emphasizing relationship-building and incorporating innovative techniques, the Engaged Field Visits course seeks to enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of probation officers in their crucial roles within the justice system. Through comprehensive training programs, Judicial Branch Education aims to empower officers to foster positive change within their communities while ensuring the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
