The county and district court offices of Nebraska have been accepting online payments since 2009, and process thousands of transactions each month.  As the public’s expectations of how business can be done online continue to grow, the Supreme Court JUSTICE team worked with online service provider Nebraska.gov to create a new version of the Nebraska Judicial Branch Internet Payment System.  Launched December 7th, this new and improved service allows users to create accounts that will make repeat payments easier.  Businesses paying on garnishments can save their case information and make monthly electronic funds transfers to the courts in just a few clicks, instead of having to enter everything every time.  Creating accounts also means users can get monthly reminders via text message or email that a payment is due.  This is helpful for individuals who have an obligation to make timely payments to court for probation fees, alimony, civil judgements, etc.  These improvements should help encourage more people to take advantage of the convenience of online court payments, and save court staff more time as well.
