Sarpy County Reentry Court Celebrates Graduation
On August 12, 2024, the Sarpy County Reentry Court celebrated its latest graduation ceremony at the Sarpy County Courthouse in Papillion, with Judge Stefanie Martinez presiding over the event.
For Emilee, the latest Reentry Court graduate, this ceremony signifies the successful completion of a rigorous program that includes comprehensive drug treatment, stringent supervision, and full accountability.
In line with other Nebraska Problem-Solving Courts, the Sarpy County Reentry Court employs a collaborative team approach. This team consists of a judge, prosecutor, defense counsel, community supervision officer, law enforcement, and treatment provider, all working together to create a tailored program for each participant. Adherence to treatment and court orders is closely monitored through frequent alcohol and drug testing, intensive community supervision, and non-adversarial court review hearings with the judge. Additionally, Problem-Solving Courts enhance participant oversight with home and field visits.
