Waiting List Process for Office of Public Guardian
The Office of Public Guardian has initiated a ‘waiting list’ process. Nominations to the Office of Public Guardian and requests to be placed on the waiting list will first be screened by a Court Visitor or will go through the normal Guardian ad Litem reporting process. Placement on the waiting list and filling any openings from the waiting list, will be determined by those who have the greatest need. Greatest need is defined as individuals who truly have no other options and for whom the OPG is the last resort. Those served first will be individuals who are in grave medical condition and those who Adult Protective Services have found to have been financially exploited, physically abused, or at risk of harm. As of today, there have been 24 cases added to the waiting list.
