Chief Justice to Proclaim the Establishment of Nebraska Trial Court Week on March 18, 2022

Nebraska Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican will announce the establishment of Nebraska Trial Court Week during a proclamation signing ceremony at the State Capitol at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022. The ceremony will kick off Trial Court Week celebrations occurring throughout the Judicial Branch during the week of March 21-25, 2022. Trial court judges will attend the ceremony to highlight the critical role of Nebraska’s dedicated trial court judges, court clerks and administrators, official court reporters and court staff who comprise the Nebraska state trial courts. 

Speakers include:

  • Nebraska District Judges Association – Hon. Rick Schreiner, Beatrice
  • Nebraska County Judges Association – Hon. C. Jo Petersen, Seward
  • Nebraska Separate Juvenile Judges Association – Hon. Shellie Sabata, Lincoln

The week is set aside for Nebraskans to celebrate the important role that local courts and their personnel play in providing access to the civil, criminal, and juvenile justice systems.
