A-23-0912, Vaneza Ramos (Appellant) v. Farmers Insurance and Michael Powers (Appellees)
Douglas County District Court, Judge Katie L. Benson
Attorney for Appellant: Paul J. Forney (Forney Law Firm, L.L.C.)
Attorney for Appellee Farmers Insurance: Margaret M. Drugan and A. Victor Rawl, Jr. (Gordon & Rees, L.L.P.)
Attorney for Appellee Michael Powers: Jennifer D. Tricker and Brian Barmettler (Baird Holm, L.L.P.)
Civil: Breach of Contract, Bad Faith, and Negligence
Action Taken by Trial Court: The appellant was the sole beneficiary of her husband’s life insurance policy, and following his death, she sought payment of the policy. After her insurance claim was denied, the appellant sued the appellees for breach of contract, negligence, and bad faith. The district court granted summary judgment to the appellees.
Assignments of Error on Appeal: On appeal, the appellant has assigned six errors which we consolidate and restate as one. The appellant generally asserts that the district court erred in finding that there were no genuine issues of material fact present in this case regarding each of her three claims.
