Action Taken by Trial Court: Appellant was charged with election falsification. The State alleged that Appellant was living in Platte County, Nebraska, in October 2020 when he registered to vote in Colfax County, Nebraska. After a jury trial, Appellant was found guilty as charged. The district court subsequently sentenced him to pay a $10,000 fine.
Assignments of Error on Appeal: On appeal, Appellant asserts that the district court erred in providing incomplete jury instructions and in allowing improper opinion testimony. He also asserts that there was insufficient evidence to support his conviction and that he received ineffective assistance of trial counsel in various respects.
