A-20-873, State v. Staudenmaier
District Court of Sioux County, Judge Travis P. O’Gorman
Attorney for Appellant: Andrew M. Pope (Crites, Shaffer, Connealy, Watson, Patras & Watson, PC LLO)
Attorney for Appellees: Douglas J. Peterson & Melissa R. Vincent (State of Nebraska)
Criminal Action: Terroristic Threats
Action Taken by Trial Court: Staudenmaier was convicted of one count of terroristic threats after a one-day bench trial. The district court sentenced him to one year’s imprisonment and 9 months’ post-release supervision. The court denied Staudenmaier’s subsequent motion for new sentencing.
Assignments of Error on Appeal: On appeal, Staudenmaier assigns that the district court erred in denying his motion for new sentencing and that the court abused its discretion by imposing an excessive sentence.
