Everyday Heroes: Juvenile Re-entry Unit

Special populations probation officers Rob Hall, Chris Gillaspy, Megan Loomis, and Sarah VonWonder of the Juvenile Re-entry Unit (JRU) serve as shared supervision officers for youth who are court-ordered to the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Centers (YRTC) and Whitehall Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility.

These officers are leaders who ensure exhaustive efforts are made through collaboration with probation staff before youth enter any of the three YRTC facilities. Upon admission, the Re-entry Unit intensively supports youth and their assigned probation officer. The officers of the JRU have made a positive impact by focusing on the re-entry planning process. They provide individual assistance throughout initial entry and continue services once the youth has returned to the community. The extraordinary efforts of these specialized officers are pivotal in strengthening the partnership between the Office of Juvenile Services and the juvenile justice system.

Thank you, Rob, Chris, Megan, and Sarah representing the probation system at its highest level – your leadership is recognized and appreciated.
