Judicial Branch Education Trainer Sherri Gelvin had only two days to convert her in-person training sessions to an online format when the court system began modified office operations in 2020. It was imperative that one program, Motivational Interviewing training – used to arm probation officers and others, with crucial skills - be held in person. Unable to postpone, Gelvin coordinated with trainers in districts across the state to hold small groups sessions to make sure that the certifications could be completed. She recruited seasoned trainers to translate some phases to virtual meetings and lent a hand anywhere she could.
