Jeff Jennings Named Chief Probation Officer for District 2 Probation

Jeff Jennings Named Chief Probation Officer for District 2 Probation

Mr. Jeff Jennings has begun his service as Chief Probation Officer for District 2 Probation (Cass, Otoe, and Sarpy Counties). His appointment became effective October 3, 2020.

Jennings joined the Judicial Branch in 1993 as a juvenile probation officer. He has served as a senior probation officer, specialized substance abuse supervision officer and has been in the role of chief deputy probation officer since 2006.

“Over the past 14-plus years I have worked towards the goal of becoming Chief Probation Officer. The last five years, in particular, I’ve worked closely with retiring Chief Jodi York to be ready if and when the time came,” Jennings said. “I’ve worked very hard on various committees, teams, and groups at the state and local level to ensure I had the knowledge and relationships needed to be successful.  I am extremely excited and humbled for this opportunity.  I can’t wait for the next chapter to begin.”

Jennings has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
