Nebraska Judicial Branch Announces New Chief Information Officer

Chad Cornelius, Chief Information Officer of the Colorado Judicial Branch, has been named Nebraska Judicial Branch Chief Information Officer, effective June 20, 2022.

Cornelius will be responsible for the overall vision, mission, goals, and objectives for information technology and network systems for the state’s Judicial Branch.  The Information Technology Division is responsible for the technological support of the Branch, in addition to application development for court and probation case management systems.  The division works to continually improve services including eFiling for courts, ePayment for services and fees, online calendars, and court case information searches.

He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Regis University and maintains active certificates as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.  Prior to accepting the Nebraska position, Cornelius served as the Chief Information Officer for the Colorado Judicial Department for 11 years. He had previously served as Deputy Chief Information Officer and a Senior Software Engineer in Colorado.
