New Leadership Chosen for Courts in Frontier County

Judges in Nebraska’s 11th Judicial District have chosen a new clerk magistrate for Frontier County. Traci Loker will serve the county court as clerk magistrate and the district court as the ex officio clerk.

Noting the county and district court responsibilities, Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly remarked, “Frontier County pioneered this type of clerk office partnership under previous clerk magistrate, Ron Werkmeister, who also served as deputy clerk of district court. His legacy of serving both courts continues.” She added, “We encourage and support a unified court clerks’ office in locations where the county is agreeable.”

Loker previously served as courtroom clerk in Red Willow County Court in McCook.  She is originally from Frontier County, however, and looks forward to serving the court and community there.  Loker transitioned into her duties on October 1, and will begin working full-time in Stockville on October 15, 2020. Her formal swearing-in ceremony will be held in the courtroom at a later date.

As clerk magistrate, Loker will work under the general direction of County Court Judges Anne Paine and Kent Turnbull;  as ex officio clerk, she will provide support to District Court Judge David Urbom. She is responsible for providing public service and managing the records, finances, and general operation of the courts. She will also work with the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation to identify and implement improved efficiencies in the combined county and district court offices.

Loker will work with fellow clerk magistrates Myndee Hagan, Deborah League, Kathy Woodmancy, Brenda Cochran, Gretchen Wiebe, Raquel Dringman, Kerri Sides, Karen Mueller, Linda Smith, and Lori Hill.
