Reminder Regarding: Working With People Who Handle Juries

Anyone -- volunteer or paid staff -- who interacts with a jury is required to take the Judicial Branch Education Jury Management Course. The course is online. Requests for the course must come through the Clerk of the District Court or Clerk Magistrate. The request form is available on the JBE Intranet.

  1. The Clerk of Court must fill out the form available on the JBE Intranet site located under the JBE tab, Court Staff Info., Jury Management.https://supremecourt.nebraska.gov/sites/default/files/Intranet/common/jbe/Jury_Management_Request_Form_Fillable.pdf
  2. Clerk’s submit the form to JBE by scanning (preferred sent to nsc.jbe@nejudicial.gov) or faxing (402-471-0728).
  3. Andrew Cano will assign a log in and password to allow access to the jbeinstruction.org site (Which is the site used for courses required by outside stakeholders not employees of the branch).
  4. Upon completion of the course, the participant is required to submit the worksheet with completed questions and signature verifying they have taken the course, read the handbook, and acknowledge the responsibility of handling a jury.
  5. JBE records their names on a master spreadsheet for documentation and keeps a copy of the scanned verification form on file for any future reference needs.
