Retired Judge Alan Brodbeck Presented with Award by Judicial Branch Education

Retired Judge Alan Brodbeck received a standing ovation from the county judges as he accepted a recognition award from Judicial Branch Education chair, Judge Riko Bishop, for his efforts to establish and maintain mandatory judicial branch education in Nebraska.  From 1987 until his retirement in March of 2017, he was involved in building judicial branch education. Judge Brodbeck's work was instrumental in focusing the attention of the Supreme Court on the need to provide mandatory education.   Judge Brodbeck has a courtroom named after him in the O'Neill courthouse, but in accepting the award he said the highest honor he had received as a judge was having his name on one of the conference rooms at the Judicial Branch Education building.  His devotion to ensuring the establishment of mandatory judicial branch education has established a lasting legacy.
