Sarpy County Summer Tour Stop Includes Multiple Locations Culminating in an Anniversary Celebration

The Sarpy County stop on the Chief Justice’s 2021 Summer Tour included a wide range of activities beginning with probation offices, and ending with a celebration honoring the 10th anniversary of the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) in Nebraska.

Members of the Nebraska Supreme Court visited the Sarpy County Courthouse and surrounding offices on June 29, 2021.  Judge Stefanie Martinez kicked off the event with a presentation of recent activities of the new Wellness Court.

Court of Appeals Judge Dave Arterburn and County Court Judge Todd Hutton led the Court and members of the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation on a brisk walk through the courthouse visiting several locations. Primary tour destinations were the district court offices, county court offices, and the Separate Juvenile Court area.  The tour paused in the COVID-protected county courtroom to view the technology upgrades and social-distanced seating.

The tour ended in the county boardroom with a JDAI celebration hosted by Separate Juvenile Court Judge Robert O’Neal. (See related article.)
