Training Professionals Education

The Nebraska Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation, the Division of Parole Supervision, and the Department of Correctional Services hosted the 2019 Annual International Association of Correctional Training Professionals Conference (IACTP) in Omaha, Nebraska, September 24 – 26, 2019.

The annual conference is a unique forum that brings together correctional leaders, training managers, trainers, field instructors, consultants, and others interested in both effective corrections practice and exemplary training strategies. It provides attendees with the opportunity to network and share innovative approaches being used within correctional agencies throughout the country. This year there were over 160 attendees from 25 different states, 44 of those being Nebraska probation staff.

Host committee members from Nebraska probation included: Probation Education Manager Jerid Wedige, District 9 Adult Supervisor Tina Riel-Lux, and District 4 Supervisor Andrea Degner. Judicial Branch Education staff Andrew Cano and Greg Sunderman were selected to present a three-hour session titled: Creative Commons and Copyright.
