District Court Judges Robert Steinke and Robert Otte to Sit with Nebraska Supreme Court Today

Nebraska District Court Judges Robert R. Steinke, Columbus, and Robert R. Otte, Lincoln, have been invited to sit with the Nebraska Supreme Court on September 3, 2021, joining the first argument session of the term. This will be the first time that Otte has participated on the Court. Steinke has, in prior years, joined the Court for arguments.

The court session will be held in the Supreme Court Courtroom in the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln. The courtroom was closed throughout the most recent term of Court due to heating and air conditioning renovations in the Capitol.

Seven justices make up the Nebraska Supreme Court: Chief Justice Mike Heavican and six associate justices. On occasion, a justice must recuse him or herself from a case, and a judge from a district court or the Court of Appeals is asked to sit with the Supreme Court.

The September 3, 2021, oral arguments can be viewed live on Nebraska Public Media Watch Live | Nebraska Public Media and on the Court’s archive.
