LINCOLN -- According to Supreme Court Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman, the Judicial Nominating Commission for District Judge in the 9th Judicial District (consisting of Buffalo and Hall Counties) will hold a public hearing in District Court Courtroom #1 at the Hall ­­­­County Courthouse (111 W. 1st Street) in Grand Island, Nebraska, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  The primary office location of this vacancy will be Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska. At the hearing, the Commission will receive information on the qualifications of candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of District Judge due to the retirement of Judge Teresa K. Luther, effective December 31, 2018.

The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening.  Persons, if any, wishing to publicly comment favorably on qualifications should attempt to coordinate with the candidates.  Public comments, if any, in opposition to candidates will be received at the hearing.  Individuals interested in applying for the position can obtain a Judicial Vacancy Application package from the Nebraska Judicial Branch website at http://supremecourt.ne.gov/5014/judicial-vacancies-and-judicial-nominating-commission-information.
