Guardian & Conservator Education Updates
The Office of Public Guardian provides education, training, and support to private guardians and conservators throughout the state of Nebraska. The number of private guardians and/or conservators trained continues to increase each year. From 2016 to 2020, the OPG provided education to an average of 1,300 private guardians and/or conservators each year. As of April 30, 2021, the OPG has provided education to 363 private guardians and/or conservators across English online, Spanish online, and phone classes.
In-person learning was suspended starting in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and replaced with a phone/conference call class. The OPG is happy to announce that in-person learning will return across Nebraska beginning in July 2021.
