The County Court Records Retention Schedule – Schedule 18 – has recently been updated. This court-specific schedule should be used in conjunction with the state agency schedule, which covers general office documents, like checks and receipts. Court staff is asked to review the retention schedules to make sure that disposition practices are appropriate and current. The Nebraska Supreme Court has approved changes to the templates for citations used in county court, effective January 1, 2019. The changes to §6-1463 and Appendix 5 citations include: transition to electronic citations where possible; transition to standard-sized paper for all citations; elimination of Supreme Court requirements for agency copies of citation; inclusion on the citations of additional fields necessary for the courts, prosecutors and law enforcement; and clarification of existing...Read more

Lancaster County Joins Three Nebraska JDAI Sites Lancaster County recently underwent a system assessment through the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative (JDAI) with the assistance of representatives through the Annie E. Members from the Second and Ninth Judicial District Reentry Court Teams traveled to Kansas City, Missouri, on February 1, 2018, to conduct a site visit of the Western District of Missouri Federal Reentry Court. During the visit Judges Teresa Luther, Stefanie Martinez, and James Doyle, along with probation staff, held a question and answer session with the Federal Reentry Court Team. A swearing-in ceremony for Kerry Sides as Clerk Magistrate of Lincoln County Court was held February 16, 2018, in the Lincoln County Courthouse in North Platte, Nebraska. Teresa (Terri) A. Brown will retire as Nebraska Clerk of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals/ Supreme Court Staff Attorney on March 2, 2018.
