The Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court celebrated three graduations in Omaha on October 1, 2020, at the Douglas County Courthouse. For the Veterans Treatment Court graduates, the ceremony marks the completion of an intensive program of comprehensive mental health treatment, intensive community supervision, and full accountability. On October 2, 2020, District 4A Specialized Probation Officers Angie Morehead, Patrick McNemar, and Zahra Sorensen-Snoza coordinated and supervised the Adams Park clean-up. Adams Park consists of 60 acres along John Creighton Blvd. at 30th & Bedford streets and includes a community center, a community garden, and a pond. Matt Fischer, Knox County District Court Clerk, worked with Niobrara school officials to convene jury selection at the school rather than in the courtroom at Center, Nebraska. The irony of the move was not lost on the community: The original courthouse was established in Niobrara and moved to the town of Center in 1901.
