The Sarpy County Reentry Court held a graduation ceremony and celebration at the Sarpy County Courthouse in Papillion on July 18, 2022. Congressman Don Bacon stopped by the Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court outing on August 20, 2022, organized by the Veterans Treatment Court Mentors and Mentor Coordinator, Sheri Peterson. A large group of law students (205) sat for the Nebraska State Bar Exam on July 26 and 27, 2022. Supporting the biggest group of test-takers in recent years were 27 volunteers helping to check-in individuals and serve as test proctors. Testing was held at the Cornhusker Marriott in downtown Lincoln where nurses from the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department screened examinees to ensure a safe test environment. After greeting Chief Justice Heavican and his travel group, Judge Russel Harford ushered everyone into the district courtroom on the 3rd floor, where he began the tour of the Sheridan County courthouse. Rachel Peters has put forth substantial effort in her five-year career as a specialized probation officer, supervising high-risk youth who are involved in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
