Outstanding County Court Clerk Magistrate Award, 2023

Awarded to: Linda Mitchell, Antelope County Court Clerk Magistrate

Linda’s passion for the court record and the courts has served her well as she works with court reporters and courts in all 93 counties to assign transcription requests and bills of exception. She reaches out to new clerk magistrates and staff who are maneuvering the transcription processes for the first time, and she seamlessly transitions assignments from the courts to the right court reporter.

Awarded to:  Wendy Moore and Kelley Golden Assistant Judicial Administrators– District 4, Douglas County Court

When Douglas County Courts Judicial Administrator stepped away earlier this year it was imperative that strong leadership continue in Nebraska’s largest court. Wendy and Kelley stepped in to ensure a seamless transition as the Court pursued a new administrator over the next several months.

Nebraska Supreme Court to Hold Court Session at Sidney High School

As an ongoing initiative for outreach and education, the Nebraska Supreme Court Justices will hold court in the Sidney High School auditorium on the morning of May 3, 2024. This visit is part of the Nebraska Supreme Court's and the legal community's sustained efforts to enhance understanding of court processes and underscore the significance of civics education in American society.

Everyday Heroes: Amanda Cox Honored

Administrative Assistant for the Adult Probation Services Division, Amanda Cox, extended her support to the Attorney Services Division during a hectic time. She swiftly adapted to a new role, handling numerous tasks with ease. She efficiently assisted attorneys with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) inquiries and annual filings. She also managed CLE submissions from various sponsors and promptly resolved account issues. Her ability and adaptability were consistently remarked upon by coworkers and attorneys.

This visit is part of the Nebraska Supreme Court's and the legal community's sustained efforts to enhance understanding of court processes and underscore the significance of civics education in American society.

Everyday Heroes: Meyer Honored

Angie Meyer, the Judicial Assistant Supervisor in Lancaster County, stepped up on short notice to support the Nebraska Supreme Court Judicial Resources Commission during their December hearing. In the absence of a court professional, Meyer volunteered to operate a Liberty Recorder at the Capitol. She demonstrated professionalism by arriving early, testing microphones, and seamlessly collaborating with the Supreme Court IT Department.
