Nebraska Probation Strategic Plan Released
Nebraska Probation has published a new Strategic Plan which will be in effect from 2024-2029. Collaboratively developed by Probation staff over the last two years, and approved by the Nebraska Supreme Court, the Strategic Plan reinforces and supports the Supreme Court’s Strategic Agenda’s goal of addressing community safety. The Strategic Plan details six leadership principles for Nebraska Probation and provides guiding goals and strategies.
Nebraska Judicial Branch to Announce Probation Supervision Week
The Supreme Court will hold a proclamation ceremony on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. announcing the celebration of Nebraska Probation Week: July 21-27, 2024. The Judicial Branch ceremony will be held and streamed live from the courtroom in the State Capitol.
Probation Management Rising Star Award: Erin Curran
Probation’s Rising Star Award has been presented to Erin Curran, Juvenile Behavioral Health Specialist, out of District 2 during the Probation Management Meeting in April 2024.
A Rising Star is relatively new to their probation position and exhibits burgeoning leadership qualities and characteristics. Award recipients offer a fresh perspective on existing programs and seek opportunities to grow professionally while actively striving to make a positive impact to move the system forward.

Everyday Heroes: Brook McConnaughey Honored
Cass County District Court Clerk Brook McConnaughey has been diligently working to bring her office up-to-date with modern technology. Without prompting, she has undertaken the massive task of digitizing old paper bills of exceptions, significantly improving access to records for appellate courts and attorneys. McConnaughey's commitment to reducing paper and streamlining court processes has led her to seek out additional guidance and education, showcasing her dedication to excellence.
Chief Justice Summer Tour Held Mid-August
The 2024 Chief Justice’s Summer Tour will take the Chief, select judges and justices, and key court staff to the southeastern portion of the state from August 12-15.
The Richardson County Courthouse will be the first stop for the travel group. From Falls City, the Chief will continue to the Nemaha County Courthouse and the Johnson County Courthouse before returning to Lincoln for the evening.

Awarded to: Nebraska County Court Association Clerk Magistrate Orientation Committee, Sara Fowler of Hall County, Ellen Faltys of Colfax County, Cathy Reiman of Boyd County, Debra Hand of Cherry County, and Vicki Kuhlmann of Washington and Burt Counties.
Everyday Heroes: Allyson Stewart Honored
Bailiff of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, Ally Stewart, goes above and beyond during each High School Traveling Argument, transforming high school stages into courtrooms, setting up the Court's recording equipment, and organizing supplies. Amidst the complicated setup, her greatest achievement is her role as mentor to student bailiffs and her engagement with student ambassadors. She patiently guides students in the Court's practices while teaching the ins and outs of the recording equipment.
