Everyday Heroes: Melanie Stormer Honored

Chief Probation Officer for District 1, Melanie Stormer, showcased her exceptional and multi-talented skill set during the Chief Justice's Summer Tour in August, when the Nebraska Supreme Court visited Southeast Nebraska. Stormer was instrumental in organizing every aspect of the event, from coordinating substantive presentations to arranging a ribbon-cutting ceremony complete with certificates and refreshments. Her versatility and outgoing personality make her an everyday hero in the community.

Nebraska Supreme Court Ballot Initiative Challenges to be Streamed on Nebraska Public Media ‘Live’

The Nebraska Supreme Court will hear arguments on three ballot initiative challenges regarding abortion rights on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Cases are subject to call at 10:00 am in the Supreme Court Courtroom, State Capitol, Lincoln, Nebraska, and will each be given 15 minutes per side.

New Nebraska Judicial Electronic Exhibits System Launches, Creating Electronic Exhibit Repository

The Nebraska Supreme Court has announced the launch of the Nebraska Judicial Electronic Exhibits System (NJEES). The newly established electronic platform allows parties, court staff, and judges to stage, submit, mark, offer, receive, and store electronic exhibits for trials and other evidentiary court hearings.

2024 Nebraska Probation Week Celebrated with Proclamation from Chief Justice

The Nebraska State Judicial Branch celebrated Nebraska Probation Week, following a proclamation ceremony held in the Supreme Court on July 16, 2024. The week-long celebration, running from July 17 to July 23, was marked by a proclamation from Chief Justice Michael Heavican designating the special week and urging all citizens, especially those in the legal community, to recognize its significance. Justice Jeff Funke delivered and presented the proclamation to probation officials.
