Nebraska Trial Court Week Proclamation to be Held March 15

Nebraska Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican will announce the celebration of Trial Court Week during a proclamation signing in the Supreme Court courtroom at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023. The ceremony will kick off Trial Court Week celebrations occurring throughout the Judicial Branch during the week of March 20-24, 2023.

Outstanding Probation Supervisor Award, 2022

Awarded to: Kurt Stevens, Dawson County Probation 

The Bob Keller Memorial Award recognizes exceptional performance by a probation supervisor. Recipients exhibit exemplary leadership, effective guidance of change, achievement of sustainable results, or strength in coaching and mentoring.

Nebraska Supreme Court to Hold Court Session at Papillion High School Following Creighton Law School

Papillion-La Vista Senior High School has invited Chief Justice Mike Heavican and the Supreme Court to hold oral arguments at the school on the afternoon of March 29, 2023.

The visit marks the first time the Supreme Court has held arguments in Papillion, where Chief Justice Michael Heavican began his teaching career after graduating college. Heavican attended law school and moved to the legal field following his years with Papillion High School.

Outstanding Probation Office Support Staff Employee Award, 2022

Chief Justice Delivers State of the Judiciary Address

Chief Justice Mike Heavican delivered his annual State of the Judiciary speech in the Unicameral Legislative Chamber, filled to the balconies with Nebraska students and instructors. The February 21, 2023, morning address was given at the invitation of the Speaker of the Legislature, Senator John Arch.

Awarded to: Laura Reynoldson, Holt County Court

Reporting Center Services Request for Qualification Open for Reponses

The Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation (AOCP) on behalf of the Community-Based Programs and Field Services Division (Adult Probation) invites submissions to the Reporting Center Services Request for Qualifications FY2024-FY2025 (RFQ).

The goal of this RFQ is to ensure an abundant and diverse pool of qualified professionals are partnered and registered with AOCP to deliver and maximize the impact of evidence-based practices and programs toward effectively reducing criminal recidivism.
