Problem-Solving Court Coordinator Chris Reece extends tremendous efforts to support participants in Problem-Solving Court. A recent example is when Reece helped clean and board up some windows at a residence so that a participant could move back in. It is acts like this that show just how selfless and supportive she is to help foster growth of the Problem-Solving Court and meet the needs of the individuals served.

Thank you, Chris, for your devotion to remaining a valuable asset to Problem-Solving Court!

Karen Sperling, formerly Holt County District Court’s Deputy, was always the go-to for answers – recalling names and case numbers off the top of her head, but still checking to confirm. She was thorough, punctual, and expedient – with a robust knowledge of all things in the district court office. Sperling left very big shoes to fill!

On behalf of Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court, we stand by our veterans and would like to acknowledge the selfless service of our nation's veterans and their families. 

We know that each veteran has a unique story and that their military service has shaped them in profound ways, but they are not the sum total of their time served. 

Take time to get to get to know a veteran. They have a lot of lessons to share.

Supreme Court Justices held court arguments in the theatre of Nebraska City High School on November 2, 2022, at the invitation of High School Principal Brian Hoover. Justices, lawyers, and staff visited for arguments to raise awareness of court processes and the importance of civics education in today’s society.  

The Omaha Office of the Public Guardian ensures that vulnerable adults placed in their care thrive by managing issues such as poor cooperation due to impaired judgment, mental illness, or substance use.  The office members pool their resources and ideas, matching individuals with services that best suit their particular circumstances, ensuring that individuals can better experience the fullness of life.  

Jodie Roberts, Clerk Magistrate and Ex Officio Clerk of the District Court in Polk County and Assistant Clerk Mykaela Dishong took on numerous additional responsibilities during a recent period of staffing transitions in the 5th Judicial District.
